Martin Hannigan
Senior Crisis & Emergency Management Consultant

 

Martin is an experienced senior leader in security, risk management and business resilience enjoying appointments in shipping, logistics, mining, civil (government), maritime, oil/gas and aerospace sectors across the globe. He holds a masters degree in Security and Risk Management and a UK Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence in Close Protection.

 

Following a successful career in the Royal Marines, Martin has worked extensively in senior security management and consultancy positions, most notably deploying to Nigeria, Namibia, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Burkina Faso, Afghanistan and Iraq.

 

Latterly, Martin worked for 7 years with Rio Tinto, 4 years of which was spent as the Country Security Manager in Mongolia, culminating in an appointment to the Group team as the Principal Advisor - Group Security and Business Resilience at the Rio Tinto headquarters in London.   

 

Martin is accustomed to working in hostile and conflict-affected areas and responds well to challenges and complexity with tenacity and agility. His international perspective, business acumen and political awareness have been key to his success.
